Stephentown is a town in Rensselaer County, New York. The population was 2,791 at the 2020 census. The Town’s original name was Jericho Hallow in the Massachusetts Bay Colony. The Town was renamed for Stephen Van Rensselaer. The town is in the southeast corner of the county, and has a sign proclaiming it to be the only Stephentown on Earth.

MEETING NOTICE – STEPHENTOWN CEMETERY ASSOCIATION
The annual meeting of the Board of Directors of the Stephentown Cemetery Association will be held on Monday, May 18, 2026 at 2:00P.M. at the home of the secretary, Beverley McClave, 8 Cemetery Hill Road, Stephentown, NY. Any and all lot owners are welcome to attend.
